Mishra is a professional bellydancer specialising in modern Egyptian oriental belly dance - known as Raqs Sharki.
Raqs Sharki is a beautiful, elegant and magnetic style of this ancient art form that allows the dancer to command and mesmerise her audience and her stage or space.
Mishra’s style of dance is infectious, energising, whilst expressing the emotions of the story of the song. She never fails to take you with her on the emotional journey of lost and found love - sorrow and newfound happiness (which she thinks might just account for the subject of around 99.9% of Arabic songs).
It’s a widely held-belief that the origins of bellydance are associated with women dancing for other women - celebrating womanhood, sistership and birthing rituals. No men allowed - it was all about the girls, thank you very much!
